Wrought Iron Atara Handrail on Two Bolt Down Posts - 1m - 2.4m

These versatile handrails are an affordable DIY method of adding a handrail to your property. The handrail pivots on the two posts, this allows the handrail to be installed down a small flight of steps. The handrail is designed to sit at approx 90cm high, the ideal height for holding onto.

Available in a choice of finishes:

Bare Metal - supplied with no coatings applied, allowing you to add the finish of your choice and colour.

Black Zinc Primed - one coat of a zinc based paint is applied to help prevent rust, your rail will arrive black and will require a top coat and then the usual ongoing maintenance you traditionally associate with wrought iron.

Holes in Base plates: 9mm

Distance from end of the rail to the centre of the lug: 220mm

Fixings provided: 6mm thunder type bolts suitable for masonry, concrete and wood (no raw plugs required) 

Measuring

We recommend that you measure along the pitch line of your steps (or slope). Whilst everyone's property is different, in general we suggest that the top post be placed on the landing and the bottom post on the bottom post, please see our diagram within the photo section.

The distance from the post to the end of the rail is 20cm.

Installation

All our products are supplied with installation guidelines. The tools that you are likely to need are a power drill with a 6mm x 150mm masonry drill bit, 10mm spanner and a spirit level.

Please note that our handrails are only as strong as the surface they are bolted to. If you are at all worried that your surface may be unsuitable, we provide the same handrail on concrete in posts, please see our other listings.  

Guarantee

All our products carry a two year guarantee against faulty workmanship. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee against rust as this is a natural effect on iron.
